Swiss pesticide poisons farmers in India

In Yavatmal in central India, about 800 agricultural labourers were severely poisoned within a few weeks when they applied pesticides to cotton fields.
Twenty people died. Syngenta exports the insecticide “Polo”, which was partly responsible for the deaths. It has long been banned in Switzerland.
